When I started sharing budgeting tips, it was mainly for my own accountability. I genuinely just wanted to clear my debt and stop feeling like a failure, especially as a single mother, which was my worst nightmare, knowing how tough that role would be.
When I drive past the boardwalk in Dublin City Centre, a flood of memories rushes back to me. I remembered a time when I stood there and bawled my heart out. I was overwhelmed because I realised I was pretending I was broke, broken, and sad. One line kept echoing in my mind, “What was the point of it all?”
“Why do you do what you do?” I was overcome with emotion because my story has evolved. It’s not just about being debt-free anymore (I achieved that). It’s not solely about the money – because if it was…
It’s about purpose.
I want to share anything that I believe will resonate with you. On my social media platforms ( Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and Youtube) because I want to be a vehicle for change. It’s because behind every post I share, I see the me from years ago, hoping to see someone who would tell me that everything will be okay. There is a point to it all; I was there, I made it through, and it changed my life.

Why do I do what I do? Because poverty exists, and we often overcompensate for the lack of security by seeking out cheap thrills and instant gratification to find some relief. Most of us have gotten accustomed to the struggle, and I want more for us. I need you guys to understand those capable of surviving the day to struggles are just scratching the surface of their capabilities.
We don’t talk about money because most of us don’t dare to. It’s used to separate and classify us into segments. Why do I know it’s my business to talk about financial wellbeing? Because when God hands you your purpose, you don’t walk away.
